Bologna is world famous for its delicious cuisine, especially its pasta and meat dishes.
Here are some typical dishes that I recommend you try during your visit:
1.Tagliatelle alla Bolognese - handmade noodles with a beef ragout sauce.
2.Tortellini in broth - small pasta filled with prosciutto, mortadella and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, served in a meat broth.
3. Lasagna alla Bolognese - homemade lasagna with meat sauce and béchamel sauce.
4. Mortadella - a traditional sausage made from pork and fat.
5.Crescentine - fried bread pancakes served with cold cuts, cheese and other delicacies.
6.Tigelle - round flatbreads baked on an earthenware griddle and stuffed with various ingredients such as cold cuts, cheese and vegetables.
7. Bean soup - a hot and hearty soup made with beans, tomatoes, onions and bacon.
8. Friggione: Friggione, a dish of peasant origin, is a very tasty sauce made with onions and tomatoes.
9. Parmigiano Reggiano - a hard cheese native to the Emilia-Romagna region.
10. Cotoletta petroniana (Bolognese style) - veal meat is fried with lard and then faded in meat broth. A slice of prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano and sauce is added.
